Product Definition:


A Peltier Device, also known as a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC), is a two-terminal device that transfers heat from one side of the device to the other, based on the principles of thermodynamics. When electrical current flows through it, one side gets hot while the other side gets cold. The Peltier Device can be used for either heating or cooling and is often used in thermal management applications such as cooling computer processors or charging batteries.


Multi-Stage:


Multi-stage Peltier device is a type of thermoelectric cooler which consists of more than two cooling stages. The first stage is usually a heat pump which extracts heat from one side and sends it to another side, thus creating a temperature difference. The second stage may be air or water based and used to cool the generated electricity. In case of third stage, the liquid used in this stage could be again water or air based (based on application).


Single-Stage:


Single-stage Peltier device is one of the most basic cooling devices used in electronic applications. It consists of two heat transfer surfaces separated by a single layer of thermal insulation. The advantage to this type of construction is that there are no moving parts, which eliminates the possibility for failure and also reduces maintenance costs.
