The most common member of this group is methyl vinyl ether, also known as perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (PMVE). It has the formula CH3OCH=CF2 and is a colorless liquid with a slightly sweet odor.

Purity above 99% is a new term in the perfluoro(methyl vinyl ether) market. It means that the product has been produced with no other than 99% of methylvinyl ether.


Purity from 95% to 99%:


It has the highest purity level among all commercial PMVE resins and is produced only by top-class manufacturers such as Dow Chemical Company, DuPont, and Celanese Corporation.

Major applications include fluororesin, pesticide, and others. Other applications include perfluorooctane (PFO) and its derivatives which are primarily used in non-sticky solvents for electronics industry. PFO is a highly stable compound with low volatility which makes it suitable for use as an industrial solvent.
