InSb photovoltaic detector is a new type of semiconductor that absorbs sunlight and generates electrical energy. These detectors are made from InSb which is an alloy of Indium, Silver and Boron. The efficiency of these detectors at absorbing the sun’s rays is much higher than conventional silicon-based solar cells as they have a larger band gap which allows more light to enter the cell resulting in better performance.
