Market Overview:
The global plant nutrient soil market is estimated to be valued at USD XX million in 2018 and is projected to reach USD XX million by 2030, at a CAGR of XX% during the forecast period. The growth of the market can be attributed to the increasing demand for fruits and vegetables across the globe. Additionally, factors such as rising awareness about healthy eating habits and growing population are also expected to drive the growth of this market. On the basis of type, acidic soils are projected to account for a larger share of the global plant nutrient soil market during the forecast period. This can be attributed to their ability to improve soil fertility and increase crop yields. On the basis of application, flower plants are estimated to account for a larger share ofthe global plant nutrient soil market in 2018.
Product Definition:
A plant nutrient is any element or compound that is essential for healthy plant growth. Soil is a mixture of minerals, organic matter, water, and air. The minerals in soil provide the nutrients that plants need to grow. The organic matter in soil helps to retain water and nutrients, and provides a place for bacteria and other organisms to live that help break down minerals into a form that plants can absorb.
Acidic:
Acidic is a chemical compound, which means it's a neutral substance with pH level less than 7.0. It can be added to the soil or water to adjust the pH level of the soil or water for certain plants that require acidic soil or water. For example, azaleas and rhododendrons grow best in acid soils; therefore, acidic compounds are added to increase the pH level of such soils so that these plants can grow properly.
Alkaline:
Alkaline is a type of soil that has a high pH level (7.5-8.5) and low available nutrients (nitrogen, potassium, & phosphorous). Alkaline soil is found in areas where there is limestone present which releases acid as it breaks down. This makes the water alkaline by adding calcium carbonate to it which raises the pH level making it more than 7.5 and less than 8.
Application Insights:
The demand for plant nutrients by application includes flower plant, foliage plant, fruit and vegetable crops, succulent plants, wood and shrub/lawn. The use of these products helps in the development of strong stems and roots for flowering plants. In addition to this benefit also includes increased yield as well as quality of crop.
Foliage is generally considered to be the final product produced by a growing plant which is used for various purposes such as food production or decorative appeal. It provides protection from extreme temperatures & UV rays through its green coloration which enhances the aesthetic value of a garden landscape design without compromising with its functional purpose.
Plant nutrients play an important role in developing strong stems & roots for flowering plants Flowering plants are generally considered to be herbaceous species that produce flowers containing stamens (male organs) & pistils (female organs).
Regional Analysis:
Asia Pacific dominated the global market in 2017 and is expected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. The region has been witnessing a rise in urbanization, which has resulted in an increase in disposable income of consumers. This, coupled with favorable government policies across various countries of Asia Pacific, particularly China and India, promoting investments for manufacturing plants and raising agricultural production outputs by providing subsidies on fertilizers is anticipated to drive the regional market growth over the forecast period.
The demand for plant nutrients from North America was valued at USD X billion owing to high product consumption from U.S.
Growth Factors:
- Increasing demand for high-quality food products: The global population is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050, which will result in an increased demand for high-quality food products. Plant nutrient soil helps improve the quality of soil and increases crop yield, thereby meeting the increasing demand for food.
- Rapid urbanization: As people move from rural to urban areas, there is a corresponding increase in the need for better infrastructure and services, including improved agricultural land and facilities that can support plant growth. Plant nutrient soil can help improve the quality of land in urban areas, making it suitable for agriculture and thus helping to meet the needs of a growing population.
- Declining arable land: Arable land is declining due to factors such as climate change, deforestation, and pollution. This makes it increasingly important to make efficient use of available resources such as plant nutrient soil in order to maintain or increase crop production levels.
