Alkaline:


Alkaline is a type of soil that has a high pH level (7.5-8.5) and low available nutrients (nitrogen, potassium, & phosphorous). Alkaline soil is found in areas where there is limestone present which releases acid as it breaks down. This makes the water alkaline by adding calcium carbonate to it which raises the pH level making it more than 7.5 and less than 8.
