A polyelectrolyte is a polymer that has been ionized to form charged groups, called "polyions", along its backbone. Polysalts are salts of polyphosphoric acid. They can be classified as organic and inorganic depending on the anion created by deprotonation of one or more cations. Polyphosphoric acid is a key ingredient used in the production process, which provides nucleophiles for polymerization and helps to cross-link the polymer chains.


Polycations:


Polycations are polymers containing an amine group. They can be further classified as ionic or cationic depending on the charge they carry. Polycations with an amine group are used in various applications including adhesives, sealants, coatings and inks, paper & pulp products and textiles industries among others.
