It is used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in various food products such as bakery items, dairy products, sauces & dressing and meat & poultry. The product also finds application in pharmaceuticals for oral drug formulations owing to its properties such as low viscosity that allows smooth consumption by patients with impaired kidney or liver functions.
