Polyvinyl ether (PVE) is a synthetic polymer, typically used as a plasticizer in PVC. It is also known by the trade name Plastek.


Viscous Oil:


Viscous oil is a type of polyol used as an additive in the plastic industry. It is also used as a processing aid for PVC and other plastics. Viscous oils are made from renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, palm kernel oil or sunflower oil.


Rubbery Material:


Rubbery materials are amorphous and soft in nature. They do not have a crystalline structure like other polymers. The material has low glass transition temperature and high flow behavior which makes it stretchable, elastic & resilient at room temperature. It also has good thermal stability as compared to other elastomers & thermoplastics when exposed to elevated temperatures.


Application Insights:


The refrigerant oil application segment led the global polyvinyl ether market in 2017. This is attributed to growing demand for HVAC systems in commercial and residential applications across various regions, including Asia Pacific, North America and Europe.
