Product Definition:


Postpartum hemorrhage is defined as excessive bleeding following the birth of a baby. Postpartum hemorrhage can occur immediately after delivery, or up to six weeks later. Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death in developed countries.


There are two types of postpartum hemorrhage: primary and secondary.


Primary postpartum hemorrhage occurs within 24 hours after delivery, and is usually caused by uterine atony—the inability of the uterus to contract adequately after labor and delivery. Other causes of primary postpartum hemorrhage include lacerations or tears to the vagina or cervix, retained products of conception (such as pieces of the placenta), and blood clots in the uterus.


Atony can be treated with medication (such as oxytocin) or with surgery (such as a hysterectomy). Lacerations may require suturing, while retained products of conception may need to be removed with a curette instrument. Blood clots may be dissolved with medication such as heparin or warfarin.


Secondary post partem hemorrage refers to any bleeding that occurs more than 24 hours after delivery.


Uterine Balloon Tamponade:


Uterine balloon tamponade is a method of obstetric management that involves insertion of a hollow, air-filled balloon into the uterus. The purpose of this device is to reduce blood loss after delivery and improve chances for successful breastfeeding. This device was first introduced in Europe in the early 1980s and has been used extensively across several developed countries since then. However, it was only recently approved by U.


Uniject Prefilled Injection System:


The Uniject prefilled injection system is used to inject medication into muscle, vein or artery. It's an easy and convenient way to deliver a precise dose of drugs at the right time. The device is compact and portable which makes it easy for doctors to carry it from one place to another during treatment.
