Potash is a potassium-containing salt, most commonly derived from potassium chloride. It is used as an agricultural fertilizer and also in many industrial processes.


Potassium Chloride:


Potassium chloride is a salt which has potassium cation (K+), and an ionic chlorine group. It is white in color consisting of solid crystals or a crystalline powder. It has high solubility in water, but cannot be dissolved completely due to its strong affinity for the soil.


Potassium Nitrate:


Potassium nitrate is a saltpetre, which is formed by the reaction of potassium carbonate (K2CO3) and nitric acid. It has a molecular weight of 142 and an ionic strength of 3.5%. It occurs in crystalline form with white color. The crystals are very fragile; therefore, they are usually made into tablets or pellet form for further use.
