Product Definition:


Pultrusion is a manufacturing process that uses a continuous filament of resin-impregnated glass or carbon fiber to create profiles, rods, tubes and other shapes. The process begins by feeding the fiber into a heated die where it is drawn through a reservoir of molten resin. The fiber is then forced through an opening in the die and out the other side while still under pressure, forming it into the desired shape. Pultruded parts are strong and lightweight, making them ideal for use in applications such as boat hulls, automotive body parts and wind turbine blades.


Polyester:


Polyester is a synthetic fiber that has high tensile strength and low elongation. It is resistant to most solvents, acids, and bases. It can be either heat-treated or chemical- treated depending on the end use application.


Vinyl Ester:


Vinyl ester is a polymer, which contains carbon and hydrogen. It can be produced by chemical synthesis or fermentation. The most common vinyl esters are polyvinyl acetate (PVA), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and polyacrylic acid (PAA).
