Glycidol 97% is a form of Glycine, an amino acid. It is manufactured by the hydrolysis of proteins and used as a building block for protein synthesis in the body. The product has several medical applications such as treatment for gout, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

The product is widely used as a chemical intermediate in epoxy resins, polyester resins, and polyurethane resins production.
