Cypernethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide. It was first registered by Dow Chemical Co. as an active ingredient in pesticide for crops and lawns in Midland, Texas, U.S., in 1969. The product has been on the market since then and has found its way into several repellent formulations over the years owing to its unique properties of being both contact and persistent (stays on plant surfaces even after rain).
Bifenthrin:
Bifenthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide. It is primarily used as a pesticide for the control of termites in wood and forest products. Bifenthrin has low mammalian toxicity, which makes it safe to use in food crops and orchards. However, bifenthrin may cause eye irritation and damage the skin if it is directly applied to the body or if it comes into contact with eyes.
