A rotating position sensor is a device used to measure the angular position of an object. This type of sensor can be used in a variety of applications, including robotics, machine tools, and automatic door systems.


Contact:


The global contact is a device used in rotating position sensors market. It consists of two conductors which are made of copper and aluminum or other metals. One end of the contact is connected to the stationary part and other end to the rotating part through a hinge. As soon as there is any change in position, torque or speed then this device produces an electric signal that can be used by computer for monitoring purposes etc.


Non-Contact:


Non-contact is a technology that uses magnetic, optical or electromagnetic means to measure position. It avoids physical contact between the sensor and the object being measured which eliminates errors caused due to friction. The technology provides high accuracy and repeatability in manufacturing processes, reduces maintenance costs and increases reliability of systems.


The major advantage of non-contact sensors over contact sensors is that there is no need for cleaning or maintenance during its operation as there are no moving parts in its design.
