Product Definition:


Sandostatin LAR is a long-acting form of the hormone somatostatin. It is used to treat tumors that produce too much growth hormone (acromegaly) and certain types of cancer.


500mcg:


500MCG is the new international unit record for Sandostatin LAR (Lack of Air Respiratory Response). It was created by the World Health Organization in collaboration with The Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and other concerned parties. 500 MCG is approximately equivalent to 1 litre of oxygen carried in a standard pressure atmosphere at sea level.


1000mcg:


1000MCG is a prescription medicine used to treat severe Sandostatin LAR (Larva Meningococcal Infection) in the pediatric population. The 1000 MCG injection is usually given within 48 hours of the first symptoms. It has been observed that children with high bacterial counts in their blood, generally develop meningitis & sepsis and hence it is important to identify the source of infection as early as possible for effective treatment.
