Product Definition:
A seismic vessel is a type of boat or ship that is used to generate and record acoustic waves for the purpose of studying the Earth's subsurface. These vessels are important for studying earthquakes and other geological phenomena.
Shallow Water:
Shallow water, also known as shallow draft, is a reference to the depth of the vessel when compared to its draft. The shallower the water is, generally speaking, the easier it will be for a ship to navigate through it. However; there are some exceptions such as rivers and other large bodies of deep water which can make up for lower depths but still require vessels to go at or near their maximum safe operating depth.
Deep Water:
Deep water is the part of ocean or deep sea which is deeper than 600 meters. Oceanographic studies suggest that the maximum depth a human can survive for long is about 400 meters. After this, oxygen supply gets reduced and time taken for surfacing becomes longer. At such great depths there are no light sources and hence it becomes difficult to move around. Also, temperature stays cold at such great depths hence it also proves to be hazardous for human life support system (HLS).
Application Insights:
