Side Hanging Type Harvesters:
Side hinging type harvesters are used for cutting and removing the corn stover and other crop residues from the fields. The device consists of a horizontal sickle bar, mounted on a vertical shaft with an arrangement of teeth at its lower end. As the operator cuts residue, it falls into a holding tray below. The cut material is then moved to one side where it is discharged through an opening in another trays which lies beneath.
Knapsack Type Harvesters:
Knapsack type harvesters are used to cut and collect the fodder or crop residues in a knapsack. It is also known as fodder collector, which is an agricultural implement used for cutting and collecting crop residues or fodder. The device consists of two main parts namely the headstock unit and the body that are connected by flexible tubing to collect residue from fields into sacks.
