A shrinkage gun is a device used to measure the amount of shrinkage that occurs in a material when it is heated. The gun uses a laser to measure the size of an object before and after it is heated, and then calculates the percentage of shrinkage. This information can be used to determine how much material needs to be used for a particular project, or how much needs to be removed after heating in order to achieve the desired size.


Electro-thermal:


Electro-thermal (ET) shrinkage guns are used for shrinking or expanding the size of various parts and components in electrical and electronic devices. The working principle is based on thermal effect which causes a change in temperature of material due to applied electric current. It can be used for plastic, rubber, aluminum alloys, copper alloys as well as other metal materials.


Gas Heating:


Gas heating is the process in which a gas such as natural or liquefied petroleum gas is used to generate heat for the purpose of shrinkingage. The source of energy for this process could be either natural gas, liquid petroleum gas or even electricity.


Application Insights:


Packaging was the largest application segment in 2016 and is expected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. The shrinkage guns are widely used for packaging various consumer goods such as electronic components, home appliances, cosmetics, toys among others.
