1700°C Grade:
1700°C grade is a high-performance ceramic material that has applications in the heating elements of silicon carbide and moissanite ceramics. It also finds use as an additive to other materials to improve their thermal performance. 1700°C grade offers several advantages over other high-temperature ceramics such as low density, permeability, thermal expansion coefficient and electrical conductivity among others.
1800°C Grade:
1800°C grade is a high-temperature ceramic material that has applications in the production of SiC and MoSi2 heating elements. The 1800°C grade materials are made from silica and molybdenum, which are considered to be among the most stable materials in terms of temperature. These products have a composition range from 99% silex to 1% boron with an average composition of around 98%.
Application Insights:
The industrial furnace application segment led the global siC and moSi2 heating elements market in 2017. The segment is projected to expand at a CAGR of XX% over the forecast period owing to rising demand from steel manufacturing industry, which is likely to fuel product demand over the next seven years.
In terms of revenue, laboratory furnaces application was valued at USD 1.5 billion in 2017 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of XX% from 2018 to 2030 due high product usage for melting & casting iron & alloys as well as non-ferrous metals such as aluminum & its alloys across various industries globally including automotive, construction equipment etc., which are majorly based on metal prices that have fueled this market growth till date since 2014-15 when these products were first introduced into this industry globally with an initial investment of USD 4 billion by ArcelorMittal Corporation into its plant in Carajas (Brazil).
Regional Analysis:
Asia Pacific dominated the global market in 2017 and is expected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. The growth of this region can be attributed to rising demand for industrial furnaces from various end-use industries, such as metal casting, foundry operations, glass making, ceramic production and smelting. In addition, increasing government investments in infrastructure development are likely to boost demand for heat recovery systems that employ silicon carbide heating elements.
The growing electronics industry has led manufacturers in Asia Pacific countries like China and Japan adopt SiC products owing to their high efficiency at low cost along with superior quality standards as compared to other alternatives used for domestic heating applications such as natural gas or oil based fuels. Moreover SiC products have a long lifetime resulting in savings on replacement costs over time which further boosts their adoption across several end-use industries including electronics manufacturing companies operating within these regions.
Growth Factors:
- Increasing demand for energy-efficient heating elements in various industrial and commercial applications
- Growing popularity of SiC & MoSi2 heating elements due to their superior thermal properties
- Rising investments in research and development activities for the advancement of SiC & MoSi2 heating elements technology
- Increasing demand from end-use industries such as automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors
- Technological advancements that are resulting in the development of more efficient SiC & MoSi2 heating elements
