A single-loop controller is a control system that uses one feedback loop to regulate a process. The purpose of a single-loop controller is to maintain the process output at a desired set point.

PID Controllers:


Single-loop controllers are used to control a single process or device. They have limited application in chemical, food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries. PID controller is used for stabilizing the output of an industrial process such as heating, cooling or production processes in manufacturing facilities. The term “process” is broadly applied to any sequence of operations that can be automated using feedback control techniques.
