A single-ply roofing membrane is a waterproof sheeting material used in commercial and industrial buildings to protect the roof deck from water damage. EPDM is short for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer and it is a polymer used in the manufacturing of single-ply roofing membranes. It has high resistance to ultraviolet rays, which makes it resistant to algae growth and degradation. EPDM also provides excellent thermal insulation, sound & water vapor control properties along with fire protection as per standard NFPI-1 (National Fire Protection Institute - 1).
