Parabolic trough is a type of solar power plant that uses the sun's energy to generate electricity. It has a long, curved design and is often used to build large-scale power plants. Parabolic troughs are built on flat or rolling land so that they face directly towards the sun throughout the day. The curved shape focuses sunlight onto high-mounted heliostat collectors, which focus sunlight onto receiver tubes containing fluid with temperatures as high as 150°C (300°F).


Power Tower Type:


Power tower type is a solar thermal power plant which uses the principle of concentrating sunlight on a central tower. It is one of the most efficient ways to generate electricity with high temperatures ranging from 400-500 degree Celsius. The system works by using parabolic troughs andpower towers, where the heat received at these locations is further transferred to tubes containing fluid, which drives turbines and generators for producing electricity.
