The primary motivation for developing 4mb stt-MRAM was to create a high capacity random access memory (RAM) with low latency that could be used in consumer electronics products such as smartphones and tablets.


8 Mb STT-MRAM:


8-Mb STT-MRAM is a type of flash memory, which can be used as an alternative to NAND flash memory. It was developed by Toshiba Corporation in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric and Hitachi Chemical Co., Ltd. The 8-Mb STT-MRAM has been commercialized under the name "CASETiFY" by Toshiba Corporation and is currently sold only in Japan.
