Double Crank:
Double crank is a two-handled lever, which is used in manual stamping machines to provide twice the force at one end of stroke than at other. It helps in applying heavy pressure on the die or metal workpiece with greater accuracy and control. The double crank can be differentiated from single crank by its handle position - it’s located on both sides of stroke rather than just one side as in case of single crankshaft.
Single Crank:
Single crank is a device used in stamping press which helps to transfer the force from main driving wheel to smaller wheels or axles. It is also known as single-axis drive system. This system has advantages such as it can help in maintaining constant pressure on all four wheels of the stamping die, it can help in reducing wear and tear of small gears, and lastly this system provides better control over the entire stroke of the press.
