Anti-static sponges are used to prevent dust and particles from settling on the surface of packaged goods. They work by attracting and absorbing the charges on particles, which makes them negatively charged. The negatively charged anti-static sponge attracts positively charged dust particles and repels them towards the surface where they can be collected for example in a vacuum cleaner.
