A steam safety valve is a device used to prevent the pressure of vapour in a boiler or other vessel from becoming too high.


Low Pressure Steam Valve:


Low pressure steam valve is a one-way or two-way valve used to control and monitor the flow of super heated vapor in a boiler. It is installed on the outlet of boiler, usually on top of the safety valves. Low pressure steam valves are closed when there is no heat input from plant equipment, and opened to let low pressure steam out when required by controlling temperature rise in system.


High Pressure Steam Valve:


The high pressure steam valve is a device that controls and monitors the flow of super-high temperature steam through safety valves in nuclear power plants. It ensures the safety standards are met during operation of the plant. The function, design, and installation of these valves comply with AS/NZS 4858:2004 “High pressure steam valve” which is an Australian/New Zealand Standard developed by Standards Australia to regulate industrial processes in high-pressure environments.
