Super Phosphate is a fertilizer that is made up of phosphorus and oxygen. It is important for plants because it helps them to produce flowers and fruit.


Single Super Phosphate:


Single super phosphate is a type of monocalcium phosphate used as an additive in fertilizers. It has the ability to improve the solubility and absorption properties of other additives. Single super phosphate can be easily soluble in water, ethanol, acetone and ether but is insoluble in acids.


Triple Super Phosphate:


Triple super phosphate is a type of inorganic fertilizer, which contains three major nutrients (P, K, and Ca) in the correct proportion. It has more P2O5 than regular phosphorous fertilizers. The product is manufactured by mixing orthophosphoric acid with limestone at high pressure and temperature to produce monosodium triphosphate (MSG), which is then converted to triple super phosphate using calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide as a catalyst.


Application Insights:


Chemical fertilizer was the largest application segment and accounted for over 60% of the total market volume in 2017. Chemical fertilizers are used to produce vegetables, fruits and cereals; maintain soil structure, fertility & productivity; control weeds, pests & diseases as well as for crop growth. Super phosphate finds its major use in manufacturing chemical fertilizers that are primarily used on a large scale by farmers across various regions including North America and Europe.
