Switched reluctance motors are a type of electric motor that uses the principles of reluctance torque to generate rotational force. Unlike other types of electric motors, switched reluctance motors do not use magnets. Instead, they use a series of coils that create a magnetic field when energized. This field interacts with the rotor, which is composed of metal vanes that rotate within the field, to create rotational force.
