A switching diode is a type of semiconductor diode that is specifically designed to be used in switch mode power supplies and other switching circuits. Switching diodes have very low forward voltage drop and high current carrying capacity, which makes them ideal for use in these types of applications.

Smaller in size than regular light-emitting diodes, they have higher current handling capacity as compared to their counterparts. Through Hole:


A through hole is a drilling process that allows electrical current to flow from one terminal to the other. The term “through-hole” is often used in reference to diodes, which are essentially two-terminal devices used as an electronic switch for turning on and off electric current. A diode can be considered as a one-way device; current can only flow from the anode ( cathode end )to the cathode ( anodend ).
