Acetyls:


Acetyls are a group of chemical compounds derived from hydrogen and carbon. They have the formula C2H4, and the most common ones are known as acetic acid (CH3CO2H) and propionic acid (CH3CONH2). These can be made by reacting hydrogen with carbon or by adding acetylene to propylene. The process is similar to making vinyl chloride but instead of using hydrochloric acid it uses phosphoric acid.
