Aerogel felt is a type of synthetic aerogel that has been developed to provide the feel of natural wool. It is made from polyacrylonitrile fibers and exhibits superior properties such as high thermal conductivity, low density, and low viscosity. Aerogel Felt can be used in various applications including insulation for hot & cold beverages, packaging for pharmaceuticals or food products along with cosmetics packaging owing to its non-corrosive nature.


Powder:


Powder is a dry, granular solid material that is made from fine particles of the same material. It can be produced using synthetic materials such as polymers and inorganic compounds. Powder has high surface area and low volume which increases its reactivity towards other substances. The most commonly used raw materials for producing powder are polymer or inorganic compound based, which are mixed with water to form a slurry; this mixture then undergoes spray drying to produce the final product.


Application Insights:


Building insulation was the largest application segment in 2016 and is expected to witness significant growth over the forecast period. Aerogel is used as a insulating material in buildings owing to its excellent thermal and acoustic properties. It can be used for soundproofing, fire protection, space heating or cooling, and air conditioning applications.
