A thermostatic steam trap is a device that senses the temperature of the condensate in order to automatically discharge or admit steam as necessary. This allows for greater efficiency and prevents the loss of valuable heat.
Bimetallic Steam Trap:
Bimetallic steam trap is a device consisting of two independent thermometers, one of them is normally closed and the other one works as a switch. The working principle behind this device is based on the differential expansion between both thermometers which becomes wider as temperature increases. As soon as the difference between both temperatures approaches zero, then bimetallic action occurs and it opens up to let flow of steam.
Balanced Pressure Steam Trap:
The balanced pressure steam trap is a device that helps to maintain the desired temperature of the water by reducing fluctuation in temperature. It works on the principle of balance between supply and demand pressure in order to maintain constant temperature. The trap consists of two parts, namely upper chamber and lower chamber which are connected by a flexible hose. The flexible hose has an orifice at one end which is attached to an external source such as boiler feedwater or hot water from shower etc.
