Product Definition:


The waste material that remains after the extraction of tin from ore. Tin tailings can be used as a construction material, but more commonly they are disposed of in landfills or deposited in ponds, where their toxicity can leach into groundwater and soil.


Pyrogenic Process:


Pyrogenic process is the growth of microorganisms in food by means of spores, bacteria or fungi. Spore formation is a pyro-genetic process and can be stimulated by heat, acid or sugar. Bacteria and fungi form spores which are generally used to grow microorganisms for instance; mycological spore formation can be used for growing mycelium on grain mills?sugar?and acidity for growing Clostridium botulinum.


Electrolytic Process:


The electrolytic process is used to separate the tin from tailings. It works by using an electrolyte solution that provides an electrical current to break down the solid material into a liquid form, and then collecting the liquid tin in a vessel. The major advantage of this method is that it does not use chemicals or heat which makes it environment friendly.


Application Insights:


Refractory was the largest application segment in 2017 and is projected to witness significant growth over the forecast period. The product is used for manufacturing high-grade refractories, which are essential for manufacturing technological products such as cement, steel and other construction materials. Refractory manufacturers require large quantities of waste products such as tin tailings in order to manufacture these technologically advanced products.
