Product Definition:


A titanium ingot is a chunk of unalloyed titanium that has been heated and then hammered into a desired shape. Titanium ingots are important because they are the starting point for all titanium alloy products.


2N:


2N is the second nitrogen-based compound of common natural gas. It has a pungent odor and color similar to that of ammonia. It can be produced by various methods, including the thermal decomposition process known as liquefaction, which involves fractional distillation of liquid hydrogen and oxygen; the chlorination process; and nitration method using calcium hydride or sodium hydride.


3N:


3N is the third nuclear phase and it's a physical property of titanium metal which has hexagonal close packed structure. It has three different properties, namely; high corrosion resistance, high strength and ductility and good hardness. These characteristics make it suitable to be used in various end-use industries such as aerospace & defense, automotive industry and medical equipment manufacturing among others.


Application Insights:


The manufacture application segment accounted for the largest volume share of over 70.0% in 2017. Titanium is widely used in manufacturing automobiles, aircraft and other transportation equipment due to its lightweight properties and high strength-to-weight ratio. The commercial application segment is expected to witness the fastest growth rate over the forecast period owing to increasing demand from construction industry for use in windows, doors, frames and panels as well as anode rod cladding.
