A transformer cooling device is a system or equipment used to cool the transformer. The main purpose of this device is to maintain the temperature of the transformer within its safe operating range and prevent it from overheating.


Oil Air Coolers:


Oil air coolers are used to remove transformer heat. They are an integral part of any transformers cooling system and help in maintaining the temperature of the transformer core. The oil-based cooling medium flows through channels in the base plate and dissipates heat from the winding cavity, thus helping to maintain optimum operating temperature of a transformer core.


Oil Water Coolers:


Oil water coolers are cooling devices that use oil as a medium for conducting heat away from the transformer core. The device is used to reduce the temperature of the oil return stream, therefore reducing transformer overheating and extending its life. They are primarily used in power transformers where high-temperature insulation is required to be maintained between windings of a copper bus.
