Product Definition:
Triacetate fiber is a synthetic fiber made from acetate. Triacetate is very strong, durable, and resistant to shrinking and stretching. It is often used for making clothing, upholstery, and other textiles.
Bright:
bright is a high-performance, acetate-based fiber developed by DuPont for use in the textile industry. It has superior properties such as quick drying, resistance to shrinking and expanding, high luster & gloss finish and excellent elasticity. Bright can be used in apparel textiles and upholstery applications where good appearance is important.
Without Light:
Triacetate Fiber (Taflon) is a man-made fiber that has been used in diverse applications such as military clothing, filtration, and heat shielding. It is also known as a flame retardant. Taflon exhibits superior properties such as high tensile strength and abrasion resistance at low temperatures which makes it suitable for use in various industries including military & defense, automotive & transportation, construction equipment industry among others.
Application Insights:
The aerospace application segment accounted for the largest revenue share of over 40% in 2017. The product is used as a replacement for asbestos and talc, which are commonly found minerals in friction materials. As per the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), around 60% to 80% of friction products contain asbestos or related minerals, which require to be removed before aircraft can fly after renovation or maintenance work is done on an existing aircraft fleet.
Triacetate fibers are also used in automobile brake pads and linings as they provide better heat resistance compared with conventional organic compounds such as carbon blacks, iron oxides and phenolic resins without affecting vehicle noise or feel when applied onto automotive rotors and drums during manufacturing process of brake systems & drums respectively by way of compounding operation using various raw materials including metal powders, oils slurry binders polyester resin binder etc.
