75%WDG is a type of weed killer used to eliminate weeds in the rice crop. It is also known as water-soluble herbicide, which can be applied to the soil or absorbed by plants through irrigation water. 75%WDG has low toxicity and it does not affect human health when used at prescribed limits.


It was initially registered for use in Canada.


Other:


Other is used as a generic name for any chemical substance that is produced by plants and animals. It can be extracted from many sources including fruits, vegetables, honey, urine, cheese & milk. Other compounds are found in various products such as perfumes and flavors. Some of the common other names include fruit essence or flavor concentrate.


Other compounds are also known as natural flavoring substances or essential oils which can be extracted from different parts of plants including flowers, leaves etc.


Application Insights:


Fruits and vegetables application segment accounted for the largest volume share of over 70% in 2017. The product is widely used on a commercial scale to control volunteer plants, which grow around the main crop. It controls weed growth by targeting essential processes such as cell division, chlorophyll production and root development. Trifloxysulfuron sodium is also registered for use on a commercial basis in orchards to control woody plant growth, especially when it invades into surrounding crops.


The product finds applications in horticulture (flowering plants) as well as floriculture (non-flowering plants). It can be applied either before or after transplantation depending upon its type: liquid 75%, wettable powder 75% or granules 30%. In flowering crops like citrus fruits and grapevines, trifloxysulfuron sodium controls unwanted vegetation without harming desired plant parts like flowers & fruits.
