Smear microscopy is a technique used to view the bacteria or their toxins that cause diseases. It uses a thin layer of tissue or skin as a microscope slide and requires little-to-no special equipment other than an optical microscope. Nucleic Acid Testing:
Nucleic acid testing (NAT) is a diagnostic test used for the detection of nucleic acid from patient’s samples. It helps in detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), which is the causative agent ofTB. The test also helps in differentiating between active and latent TB infection (LTBI).
