A U-Tube viscometer is a scientific device used to measure the viscosity of fluids. The device consists of two tubes which are joined at one end. The tubes are filled with the fluid being tested and the other end is sealed off. One tube is rotated while the other remains stationary. The difference in rotation speed between the two tubes is then measured and used to calculate the fluid's viscosity.

The viscosity of a fluid is dependent on its temperature and shear rate. The higher the temperature, the lower will be the viscosity and vice versa. In U-tube viscometer, a liquid is made to pass through an orifice by means of a rotating tube at constant speed.
