Ultra Heat Treatment (UHT) System is a high-temperature, short-time food preservation process. The importance of Ultra Heat Treatment (UHT) System is that it can kill harmful bacteria and extend the shelf life of food products.
Direct Heating UHT System:
Direct heating uht system is used for the sterilization of milk and dairy products. It uses a process where the product to be heated is placed in a container which has been pre-heated by means of an external source of heat. The process takes place at low temperatures (65 - 75 degree Celsius) and thus prevents damage to food items.
Indirect Heating UHT System:
An indirect heating system is a type of thermal process used to sterilize milk and dairy products. It uses hot water from the boiler instead of direct heat, which helps in increasing the shelf life of processed food. In this system, there is no need for costly temperature-controlled storage equipment as the product is pasteurized by being exposed to steam that has been pre-heated by the boiler.
