A vanadium-titanium alloy is a type of metal that is composed of the elements vanadium and titanium. This alloy has many important applications, including in the aerospace and automotive industries.
High Purity:
High purity is a term used to define materials or substances that contain greater than 99.999% of the desired substance. The desire substance can be a metal, element, compound or any other physical entity. In the case of metals and elements, high purity usually means that the percentage content of pure sample is more than 99.99%. For example; stainless steel contains iron (63%), chromium (36%) and nickel (6%).
Low Purity:
Low purity is a term used for metallic vanadium in combination with other metals such as titanium, niobium, columbium or hafnium. The most common low-purity alloys are VNbTi and VTT. Low-purity alloys have applications where high strength and corrosion resistance is required along with some specific properties like electrical resistivity or thermal conductivity.
Application Insights:
Aerospace was the largest application segment in 2017 and accounted for a market share of more than 45% by volume.
