Pulmonary Embolism (PE) is a condition in which blood clots form in the lungs and may cause serious damage to the organ. It is also known as pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE). Pulmonary embolism usually occurs due to deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary hypertension.
