Product Definition:


A water brake dynamometer is a device that measures the power output of an engine or other machine. It does this by using the water in a tank to create resistance against the motion of a spinning flywheel. This resistance can be measured and used to calculate power output.


One Direction of Rotation:


One Direction of Rotation is a method to measure the flow rate in Water Brake dynamometer. It's used as an alternative to Lateral Flow and Pressure Transducer methods. One direction of rotation can be used for both liquids & gases.


It’s major advantage over lateral flow & pressure transducers is that it provides accurate results under all conditions including high viscosity, high conductivity, low temperature.


Two Directions of Rotation:


The two directions of rotation are clockwise and anticlockwise. The two directions of rotation are used in water brake dynamometer to express the efficiency of a brake system. It is done by measuring the rotational speed using a sensor fixed on the wheel or on any other part which can be stationary or moving through water with known resistance, like an armature wound with copper wire.
