Helical-worm, also known as spiral or coiled-worm gear is a type of mechanical gear. Helical-worm gears are widely used in electric motors, automotive transmission systems and power tools among others.


Double-worm:


Double-worm is a gear reduction scheme, which involves two gears meshing together to transmit the same torque as one single gear. The name comes from the fact that there are two worms (axles) in the scheme; one for each gear.


The advantage of double-worm gearing is that both gears mesh well and can be used to transmit equal power through a drivetrain with minimal loss of efficiency.
