Paraxylene, also known as xylene or benzene, is an organic compound derived from crude oil. It is a colorless and highly flammable liquid with a strong odor. Paraxylene can be produced by several methods including the hydrocyanation of benzene and via the chlorination of ethane.


Orthoxylene:


Orthoxylene is a colorless liquid with an odor similar to gasoline. Orthoxylene is derived from xylene and used as an intermediate in the production of polymers, resins, and other chemicals. The global orthoxylene market size was valued at USD 456 million in 2016 which has been witnessing growth over the past few years on account of increasing demand for plastics coupled with growing chemical industry across the globe.
