Product Definition:


Zirconium phosphate is a white, odorless powder used as an additive in making ceramics, glass and enamels. It improves the firing properties of these materials by preventing the formation of gas bubbles and increasing their resistance to thermal shock.


Normal ZrP:


ZrP is a special type of zirconium phosphate, which has the formula Zr(PO4)2. It occurs in nature as a rare mineral called zirconolite. The commercial form of ZrP usually available is produced by heating (calcination) of hydrothermally treated silica-zirconia and leaching with sulfuric acid.


Nano ZrP:


Nano ZrP is a new chemical compound, which has been recently developed by the researchers of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. The research was supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG), which had funded KIT for developing nano-based materials. Nano ZrP consists of a metal oxide framework, wherein metallic Zr(+) is replaced with anions such as phosphates and nitrates.
