Product Definition:


Indium phosphide (InP) is a semiconductor material with a high electron mobility and optical transparency. It is used to make light-emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, and photodetectors. LEDs made from InP are often used in displays for smartphones and other portable electronics.


Industrial Grade:


Industrial grade is a high purity form of indium phosphide which has been processed to remove other materials and contaminants. It consists of 99.8% indium and 0.2% phosphorus by weight, with the rest being mostly water, along with some impurities such as calcium, sodium and magnesium which are removed during processing to achieve industrial-grade IPG.


Electronic Grade:


The global indium phosphide (InP) market size was valued at USD 4.5 billion in 2015 and is expected to witness significant growth over the forecast period owing to its increasing demand for solar cells. The electronic grade of InP has a composition of 68% purity, which is used as an acceptor material in the production of photovoltaic cells.
