Product Definition:


An inductive sensor is a type of proximity sensor that uses an electric current to generate a magnetic field. The magnetic field interacts with a metal target, causing eddy currents to flow in the target. These eddy currents create their own magnetic fields, which oppose the original field. The strength of this opposing field is proportional to the distance between the sensor and the target.


An LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) is an electronic device used for measuring linear displacement or position. It consists of three coils wound around each other: two primary coils and one secondary coil. When there is no displacement, equal current flows through all three coils and they are effectively in series (Figure 1).


DC Operated LVDT Sensor:


DC operated LVDT sensor is a device used to measure the distance between two conductors in an electric field. It's named as such because it uses the principle of induction by making use of a coil connected to one or more sensors. The device works on the basis that any change in magnetic flux produced by electric current will produce an electromagnetic field around it and this helps in measuring the distance between two points.


AC Operated LVDT Sensor:


AC operated LVDT sensor is a device that generates an electric signal by means of the induction of electrical energy from power lines. The signal is used to measure the position and speed of work pieces during the manufacturing process. It finds its application in various industries such as automotive, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, machine tools and semiconductor equipment among others.
