Product Definition:


A relay is an electrically operated switch. Relays are used where it is necessary to control a large amount of current with a small amount of current. For example, relays are used to turn lights on and off, start motors, and open and close gates.


Electromechanical:


Electromechanical is a technology that uses electrical energy for mechanical work. It can be used to create motion in machines and devices without using any fuel or source of energy other than the electric current itself. Electromechanical systems are classified into two types on the basis of their functional entities, viz., electrical machines and mechanical devices. Electrical machine includes servo motors, solenoids, relays, DC motors & AC motors while mechanical device comprises actuators & sensors among others.


Latching:


Latching is a technique used in industrial relay systems to avoid the flow of current through an open circuit. It helps in maintaining the closed state of circuits even after the power source is removed from some parts of the system. The process involves two devices, called as latches, which are connected across a circuit and when both are pressed simultaneously then current cannot flow through open circuits; instead it will go through closed circuits thus making sure that all parts of system stay powered up.
