Product Definition:
Infrared lamps are lamps that produce infrared radiation. Infrared radiation is electromagnetic radiation that has a wavelength longer than that of visible light, but shorter than microwaves. Infrared lamps are used for a variety of purposes, including heating, medical treatment, and detection.
Near Infrared:
Near infrared (NIR) is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum between 400-700nm. The NIR region is a part of the visible light but with longer wavelengths than visible light. Near Infrared radiation can be used for non-invasive medical treatment such as pain management and cancer detection/prevention.
Medium Infrared:
Infrared lamps are used for heat detection and as an infrared source. They produce invisible infrared radiation, which is absorbed by the body to be warm. The longer the wavelength, the higher will be its ability to penetrate through clothing and other materials.
The human body absorbs IR energy in small amounts; approximately 5% of incident solar radiation is absorbed by a human skin surface (the rest being reflected or dispersed).
