Mid IR:


The Mid-Infrared (mid-IR) spectroscopy is a technique that involves the study of molecular and atomic vibrations in the near infrared region. The method provides information on bond lengths, bond angles, and chemical environments along with other properties. It also helps to determine functional groups present etc. mid-IR spectroscopy is used for applications such as studying biological tissues, determining composition of gases etc., which are beyond the range of normal IR light or visible spectrum.

The application of NIR and mid-infrared spectroscopy for studying living organisms is well established, however, its use for analyzing samples that are more than 3 months old is not very common.
